Be prepared for bad weather in Pennsylvania

Although most of us look forward to fall the impending bad weather can cause major havoc on the roadways. Hurricane Irma is prepared to do her worst this weekend and that can bring bad weather our way.

Some leaves are already turning as they prepare for their winter sleep which means they will begin to FALL.

Bad weather can accelerate the shedding of leaves and where will they fall? ON THE ROADWAYS!

Accumulation of leaves on the roadways can be as dangerous as a lot of water sitting on the roadways or even ICE.

Your vehicle can go on a dangerous SLIP AND SLIDE RIDE if you are not paying attention to road conditions and weather coming your way.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP PREVENT AN ACCIDENT?

  1. CHECK LOCAL WEATHER CHANNELS – It’s a good habit to get in to before traveling a long distance or even just down to the store.
  2. PLAN YOUR TRIP / ROUTE to avoid potentially dangerous areas.
  3. KEEP EXTRA SUPPLIES in your car (see our youtube videos for advice on that)
  4. DRIVE SLOWER than you normally would and ALWAYS turn your Hazard lights on when driving 10 mph below the posted speed limit so other drivers will be aware you are driving at a slower speed.

STAY SAFE this weekend and next week. BE ALERT to the weather and PREPARE… Always PREPARE.
